The Application of Prepaid Cash Card for Consumer

When we were young, we always admire how our parents swipe their credit card whenever we went out to shop for toys. The way we perceived credit card is like a wonderful magical card because it can fulfill all needs and wants without giving out a single dollar. That was when we were young and naive.

As time goes by, we knew credit card is not that wonderful and superior anymore as it is a LIABILITY. The moment when we swipe, we feel the excitement, our dreams fulfilled. But when the bill statement arrives, we are in HUGE trouble. That is when Prepaid Cash Card or Debit Card became popular.

The reason why these Prepaid Cash Cards or Debit Card became popular is because the consumers can easily control their spending desires as they know how much they spend is actually how much they owned in the card. Hence, lesser people applies for Credit Card and the desire for Debit Card or Prepaid Cash Card has increased.

So in fact, what is this Prepaid Cash Card?
-It is the combination of a credit card and a debit card which allows the cardholders to load money onto it and then use it at anywhere a debit card is accepted. Because the money is loaded onto the card in advance, there is no credit risk for the card suppliers, unlike with traditional credit cards.

The Advantages of using Prepaid Cash Card:

a)Availability - Can be used at anywhere as long as the debit card or prepaid card is accepted.

b) Control - they are an ideal way to budget for yourself or help to manage your spending.

c)No debt risk - with a prepaid card there is no chance of spending
too much as you are limited to the amount you
put/have on your card.

In Malaysia, the most popular Prepaid Cash Card is definitely Touch 'n' Go. Mostly people purchased it is because of convenience purpose as it can avoid long queue at the Plaza Toll as well as queue at the railway stations and etc. But Touch 'n' Go card still has its boundaries as it cannot 100% perform like a credi card where consumers can use it to purchase groceries at the supermarket or paying the petrol bill at the petrol kiosk. Hence, the debit card has been introduced.

There are many alternatives for debit cards such as PublicBank Debit Card, MayBank Debit Card and etc. But in my point of view, i think the most common debit card for now will be MayBank debit card. This debit card is actually our ATM card that can performs just like the normal credit card and can be used at most of the shops in Malaysia.

In fact, there are many Prepaid Cash Cards out there in the market. But to be frank, in Malaysia, Prepaid Cash Card's trend just started. Compared to other countries such as United State, United Kingdom and etc, their Prepaid Cash Cards' varieties are even wider than us as Prepaid Cash Card is widely use in their countries.

In conclusion, the application of prepaid cash card so far can be consider healthier than credit cards. But in my point of view, the best of all is still CASH!

The Application of Third Party Certification in Malaysia

Third Party Certificate (TPC) is a very new term to everyone i guess. What is Third party Certificate actually? A TPC endorsement has been used as one of the technique to implant customer's trust when doing online transaction using the internet. The implementation of TPC is very significant because the customers has a tendency to trust brand names. Thus, to increase customer's trust and eliminating the doubt in customer's mind is by getting a SSL certificate.
SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. It is a protocol created by Netscape to make sure that there is a secure and safe transactions between web servers and browsers. In addition, it enables information to transmit back and forth securely. Applications that use the SSL protocol certainly know how to send and receive encryption keys with other applications, as well as how to encrypt and decrypt data sent between the two.

The SSL certificate is a digital certificate. It is a small data file that digitally shows the organization's details such as the domain name or server name, the company name and its location as well as the company contacts detail. This certificate is issued from a trusted Certificate Authorization The protocol uses a third party, a Certificate Authority (CA), to identify one end or both end of the transactions. Globalsign is one of the most trusted certificate authorities.

In Malaysia, the most well-known certicate authority (CA) is MSC TRUSTGATE.COM SDN BHD. MSC TRUSTGATE has started since 1999 to meet the rapid growth of the open network communications and become the catalyst for the growth of e-commerce of both locally and across the ASEAN region. MSC TRUSTGATE provides 5 main services which are Mytrust, SSL certificate,Digital Encryption, managed PKI and SSL VPN.

Furthermore, there is another product introduced by MSC TRUSTGATE - MyKey. MyKey, is the MyKad PKI solution that works with our physically MyKad, which allows us to authenticate ourselves online and to sign documents or transactions digitally and is accepted by the Malaysian government. Any action that uses the MyKey is legally bind by the individual.

Verisign is another example that offers SSL certificate. SSL is a trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services for the networked world. It provides authentication and verification of businesses worldwide. Billions of times each day, VeriSign helps companies and consumers all over the world to engage in trusted communications and commerce. Below is a link to youtube where there is a video that demostrates how to put purchase a SSL certificate from Verisign.com

In conclusion, why there are millions and billions of online sellers that applied the 3rd party certificate is because they wanna enhance the confidence of their consumers and clients during the transactions. Having or not a SSL certificate makes a significant different for the consumers because with a SSL certificate, it means that the website is safe and secure. Consumers will be more willing to deal with websites that have such certificates. Hence, there are many websites out there that sells goods and services have this SSL certificate.

If you are planning to do e-Commerce, do remember to purchase one ;p

A little bit about Me

It has been a long time I didn’t write anything about myself. The last time that I wrote about this when I was first started using Friendster as there was a column that requires the user to fill in his or her personal data as well as something that he or she would like to share with his or her friends. So well, for the assignment purposes, I’m here again to write something about me.

My name is Allyssa Ho Jia Huey. I was born in Johor Bahru and stayed there for a couple of years. But I finished my primary education in Brunei. Hence, I do not have a UPSR certificate but a PCE (Primary Certificate Examination). After I completed my primary education in Brunei, I was then moved back to a small town in Johor named Batu Pahat. I stayed there for a year and moved again to Kuala Lumpur. I’ve been staying here ever since then. The reason why I shifted from here to there were all due to my dad’s job that required him to travel from one place to another. Out of the four places I’ve stayed before, I love Kuala Lumpur the most as it is the city that never sleeps.
My top hobby is to surf the net and My top 5 internet site are:

Besides that, I love blogging and reading other’s blogs too like XiaXue, kennysia and etc. I find it interesting to read about other’s lives as well as their experiences. Furthermore, lately I am addicted to e-shopping. The web has variety of products for the consumers to choose. Apart from that, e-shopping is so much simpler than shopping at the shopping malls.

Basically there is all about me. Thank you for your time to read our blog.

Have a nice day.
Love,
Allyssa
